KEEP YOUR KIDS CONNECTED TO JESUS

FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES, AND RECREATION

CHILDREN’S
CHURCH

K–5TH GRADE

Welcome to Children’s Church, where kids are getting connected to Jesus! Here is where children will find engaging worship and interactive Bible studies that are relevant to today’s children and teach them about God’s grace, love, and promises.

It’s our hope that children look forward to coming to church because they don’t want to miss out on the excitement and fun they experience while learning about our loving God!

WEEKLY EVENTS

Sunday School
We have Sunday school during both our 9:30 and 11 am services; children are invited to leave near the middle of the worship service to attend Children’s Church. They will be led out by our children's staff team. Children will be ready for pick up immediately after each service in the Children's Ministry room which is in the Education Building along the first floor hallway. Enter by the Cooper Hall East door and continue through to the Education Building classrooms.

September-May
When Wednesday Night Refuel is in session, children are invited to join us for dinner from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. followed by children’s small groups until 7:45 p.m. During the small group time, we spend time in fellowship and play, worshiping God through fun songs, and learning a mid-week lesson about how God wants us to live every day.

June-August
A variety of activities are scheduled throughout the summer to help children grow in faith and stay connected with one another!

VACATION
BIBLE SCHOOL

K-5TH GRADE

Each summer, we offer exciting and relevant Vacation Bible Schools for children to help them grow in faith. Kids enjoy hands-on crafts, games, stories, fun songs, and much more!
2024's Jungle Journey and 2025's Wonder Junction Vacation Bible Schools were huge success with both children and parents. We are now working on 2026's Vacation Bible School Adventure, set in Ireland, called Emerald Crossing. This year's scripture-based adventure uses Psalm 23 as its foundation to teach about the Good Shepherd and how he cares for his sheep. Our local VBS page will provide a taste of what is in store for your children this year in the setting of lush Irish hills and green meadows. Join the five day adventure beginning June 8th and featuring days full of great fun and learning about Jesus and God's love for all his creation. Please check back regularly for updated information or contact our Children's Ministry Team.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

3RD GRADE-12TH GRADE

Along with programs designed specifically for our children, we plan a variety of stand-alone, family-friendly events throughout the year in order to offer regular opportunities for both children and parents to interact together in fun and affirming activities and events. Sometimes seasonal, sometimes thematic, but always inclusive and always directed to building Christ-centered family relationships. Watch our eBlasts and newsletters for these special events.

VOLUNTEERS AND
DONATIONS FOR VBS

If you would like to join us and volunteer or donate items for VBS, please sign up in Cooper Hall. All donations need to be brought to the church office by the posted deadline to ensure we have enough for everyone.

Those willing to serve will need to plan on attending a training event prior to the Vacation Bible School.

JUST FOR PARENTS

Dear Parents,

We are delighted to have your child as part of our children’s ministry! Belowis a short list of what parenents should expect on your child's first visit to First Methodist Church of Zephyrhills.

We will ask parents to fill out a short personal information form the firtst time you pick up your child from Children's Church.
This form will remain on-file with our Family Ministries staff.

We follow strick background check standards. We are extra careful, so you don't have to worry. If you have any questions about this process, please feel free to connect with Director of Family Ministries, Karen Ezra.

We ask that you not leave your child at the nursery or children's church when they are sick and/or exhibit a fever. We are always mindful about the possibilities of the inadvertent spread of colds and illnesses. Please help us by keeping your child away from others until they are feeling better.

Your child will be offered a snack during their time in the Nursery or Children's Church classroom. Usually, snacks may be Goldfish, Animal Crackers, some juice or somthing similar. Please indicate on your information form if your child has any known dietary or other allergies.

Parents are required to come into the building to sign their children out after ALL activities and meetings. If your child is allowed to walk home alone or with someone else, please indicate this on the information card.

If your child should get sick or need you during the service and while in our care, we will come find you in the service or will text you on the cell number you provide to us. Please be sure that your cell phone is silenced for the service but still on vibrate so that you don't miss any text notification from our staff.

For any questions or concerns, please contact our Director of Family Ministries at 813-782-5645.
Thank you for entrusting us with the privilege of working with your children. It is our joy to create a positive and enriching experience for them in our children’s ministry!
