Faith Responders Hurricane Helene Feature from October Messenger
Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane. She left an enormous path of destruction across Florida and the entire southeastern U.S. on Friday, killing at least 40 people in four states. Several of the counties in big bend area of Florida, like Taylor county, have taken direct hits from three (3) hurricanes since August 2023. They need your prayers for God’s calm hand of peace. Faith responders will use Live Oak Methodist Church as their base camp. Methodist Church of Live Oak 311 Ohio Ave., Live Oak, FL. There will also be some local teams to work out of Tallahassee Heights.
First Methodist Church of Zephyrhills, in partnership with Faith Responders, has been actively participating in disaster relief efforts in our area and nearby communities impacted by the recent hurricane. In addition to individual financial contributions, our Thrift Shop, and Commission on Missions, have already made financial donations to Faith Responders and our Food Pantry is delivering relief supplies directly to impacted areas. Our local congregation is also represented with “boots on the ground” support in Live Oak, Florida in cooperation with Faith Responders, and other relief efforts are actively being formed with church members. Please keep all these efforts in your prayers and note that 100% of all contributions to Faith Responders go to emergency relief.
