Our Faith Becomes Reality Through the Strength of Your Hearts and Hands

Faith Responders in Action Throughout the State during Spring/Summer 2025
Who are Faith Responders?

The Mission: At Faith Responders, our vision is To empower, equip and engage churches to share the restorative love of God through disaster response and recovery by offering Christ in tangible ways.

Their Approach: We understand that those in an impacted community know what is most needed for their community. So, we let the local congregation and community take the lead by identifying needs and the best way to respond to needs by providing support, resources and guidance.

Their Partnership: We are honored to be a Strategic Mission Partner and Extension Ministry of the Global Methodist Church. We profess the values and beliefs of the Global Methodist Church seeking to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly and witness boldly.

Your Response: Thank you for your support!! We always have openings for volunteers to help with administration needs, social media, prayer quilts, phone calls, repairs, rebuilding and training events. Please reach out to us for ongoing and current needs.

Hi Faith Responders Family,

It’s been a quieter few months, and honestly, that’s been a blessing. After so many seasons of storms and long days of rebuilding, this stillness has felt like a breath of fresh air. A moment to pause, rest, and simply be still and know that God is still at work, even when things slow down.

Recently, we were asked to help with one more home in Ridge Manor, so our teams have been back on site finishing up repairs and helping another family finally return home.

Even in calmer weather, the mission doesn’t stop. We’ve just been reminded that sometimes God moves in the quiet just as powerfully as He does in the chaos.
Lately, I’ve felt Him reminding us all to slow down, listen, and let His peace settle in. Maybe you’ve felt that too, a gentle nudge to breathe, to trust, reset and to rest in His presence.

May this season of peace draw us closer to Him and prepare our hearts for whatever’s ahead.

With gratitude,
The Faith Responders Team

Friend,

Thank you for committing to support our ministry through prayer! Please consider keeping this list in a place where you will be reminded to present the following requests to God on a regular basis:

1. Pray for Disaster Survivors It can require years or even decades before a household fully recovers from the effects of a disaster. As you pray for survivors of disasters around the world, please pray that they will see and feel God’s love in tangible ways, and that their suffering will bring them into closer fellowship with God as they seek hope during overwhelming and discouraging situations.

2. Pray for our Leadership We believe that God will continue to provide for the needs of our ministry as long as our leadership team continues to seek his will for Faith Responders. As we continue to pursue the vision God gave us for Faith Responders – to support and encourage communities affected by disaster through our partnership with churches in Florida and throughout the world – please pray that our executive director and board of directors will continue to seek heavenly wisdom in response to earthly challenges.

3. Pray for our Volunteers Our work would be impossible without the individuals and churches who have chosen to participate in early response and recovery projects and to partner with us as we provide disaster preparedness training. Please pray for safety for our volunteers working in communities affected by disaster, and please pray that God will continue to prepare that hearts of future volunteers as they attend disaster preparedness trainings.

4. Pray for our Partners Effective disaster readiness and recovery work requires partnerships. Please pray for the churches, businesses, and other organizations who support our ministry through service and f inancial donations. It is only through this network of support that we can continue to help restore hearts and communities. Together, we have the privilege to play an active role in building God’s eternal kingdom!
Faith Responders will update future opportunities as information comes in.  Please let us know if you have any questions about what you can do to participate.

Prospective volunteers should reach out to Volunteer and Field Coordinator Tammy Scott to signup for their spot for one of the workdays listed above.  You can reach Tammy at 682-309-1003

Locally you can also contact either Lorne Becker or Tana Day, our FMZC Faith Responders coordinators. Call or drop by the Church Office during regular business hours to provide your information and a mission representative will contact you.
